JOE FIG

Hendershot Gallery is pleased to announce new paintings and sculptures by Joe Fig. This exhibition highlights Fig's nearly
ten-year-long project which exploresthe gap between the studio and the gallery. While exploring and reinterpreting artists'
studios and their practice, Fig brings the physical reality of the palettes and brushes and the paints and worktables, into the
gallery to show how painters work and how paintings are made. Included in the exhibition are sculptures that depict the
intimate work environments of Ross Bleckner, Inka Essenhigh, Ryan McGinness and James Siena. The specificity of the
painters’ tools and workspaces offer insight into their personalities and their workand in Fig’s hands become portraits of the
artists' and the creative process.

ALOIS KRONSCHLAEGER

Hendershot Gallery is pleased to announce a site-specific installation from Alois Kronschlaeger’s newest series titled
Event Horizon. Kronschlaeger’s installation, made of aluminum screen mesh, works as a visual and atmospheric
extension of the Project Room. As the mesh moves from a flat screen-like form to a 3D form it becomes reminiscent of
a topographic landscape which results from pure physical force. The blurred perception of the surface and the object
defy both the space and the materials’ delineation
